hurm. back when i didnt have an internet connection (which is quite recently), i would type whatever i had in my head on my pc, transfering it to a pendrive then posting the blog whenever i went to a cybercafe. nowadays when i go online, my head suddenly feels empty. so i am basically typing this out in a notepad before posting it on my blog.
fortune. something that almost all of us seek, but not all would obtain, and even fewer that has it and isnt seeking more. ok then back to the point. i was running pretty short on cash, and i had a week and around rm 150 before my parents would come back to malaysia for my sister’s convocation. and since shit happens and i usually ask for money from my parents whenever my bank balance is around rm100, i was abit worried. i didnt want to ask for money before they came cos it would be a hassle for them. there is no bcb in brunei, and since my dad works on sundays>thursdays, with saturday and friday being the day off, the only time for my parents to cross the brunei-malaysian border was on friday. and the trip to miri is around 2 hours each way. there is another border crossing at limbang but that is basically a shithole full of ethnic kadazan i think. no bcb. so i was short on money and didnt want to ask for money til my parents got here. suddenly sean got called for a movie shoot, and they needed ppl. so i went. turned out to be the shortest shoot ever i guess. 3 hours only. payment? cash, rm60 on the spot. woot. and so i thought my luck couldnt get any better. until yesterday. sean’s mom (catering boss) needed help storing the catering stuff in the store room since his dad went fishing. and his dad burnt his foot last week when a loose gas hose connection almost caused a fire. basically a tank of gas was connected to two burners. and one of the burners was switched off. the pressure must have been too high, so connecter/splitter disconnected with gas blowing out which eventually caught fire and basically became a renegade flamethrower. and since that area had around 5 gas tanks, if that tank wasnt unplugged, there would have been an explosion that would make ppl think israel was bombing malaysia. luckily sean’s dad was brave enough and managed to disconnect the tank from the flaming hose, while his foot was being flame grilled. so me and sean were needed to help in storing the stuff. there was alot of stuff, and they werent usually stored, but since the ramadhan month is coming soon, there wont be any weddings, only small functions held at night. so most of the stuff was to be stored. and since hi dad was away and there was a need to buy stuff, i became the driver. went to ampang point, they bought shoes for his dad, 2 cordless phones, clothes, and a dvd player (since sean brought the dvd player they had to the rented house). so for all the work done, i got rm50. not bad la. no heavy work, just some lifting and transfering. so in 2 days i got rm110. sometimes the lady of fortune smiles on u. and i’m grinning from ear to ear back at her.
